Port Washington Home Inspection: Another poor sealing job

Port Washington Home Inspection: A skylight, when installed properly, is not usually sealed along the bottom edge as this area is meant as a drainage area.

The flashing that you cannot see around the entire skylight is designed to, if water enters along the sides, drain water towards the bottom so the water drains down to the roofs' edge to the gutter.

This skylight was likely leaking and many contractors just get a bucket of tar and a brush and slather tar all over the place, and as you can see the cover is cracked as well, so this unit needs more work than meets the eye.

When you need an experienced home inspector with hands-on background for a home inspection in Rockville Centre, Meticulous Home Inspection is quite familiar with this area, roofing issues, and much more.

We are available 7 days a week, so don't be ridiculous, call Meticulous at 631 902 6761.
