Picture a new home inspector hired by a purchaser with little experience making a mountain out of a molehill, or worse yet an out-and-out incompetent inspector who quotes ridiculous prices on repairs to your home without being a licensed contractor. Only licensed contractors should be pricing repairs, and even if you cannot address the issues found after hiring your own inspector, having quotes prepared by licensed contractors on hand when the purchaser shows up with their inspector can save you time, trouble and money!
