We have 15 years in construction (electrical, plumbing, roofing, kitchens, bathrooms, doors, windows, staircases, railings, etc.) which many inspectors cannot match. Some inspectors have none.
Older Homes have their own sets of issues
We typically find similar issues in many of these older homes that Meticulous Home Inspection has inspected. Ungrounded wiring, asbestos floor tiles, lead paint, inadequate railings, steps that vary in height and can cause trip/fall issues are all part of the inspection process - especially in older homes.
Older homes can have hidden issues that are revealed by our inspectors such as underground oil tanks - see picture on right. A leak from a rusted underground oil tank can be very expensive to remediate. Only a licensed oil tank contractor can test for and remediate this problem.
Many of these houses when built didn't follow building codes as these were not that prevalent, and these codes were not strictly enforced. Meticulous Home Inspection will point out all the deficiencies and defects, and we include many photos in our report which is usually emailed the next day.
